January 15, 2021Meet the Team: Jill Johnson
Hi all! My name is Jill Johnson, and I am so excited to be joining the Greenville Chamber this semester. I am originally a south Alabama native, but Greenville has been my home for the last three years as I have attended Furman University where I am now a senior. Upon my graduation in May, I will have a degree in Economics with hopes of perusing a career in the actuarial field.
This past spring, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Brussels, Belgium where I interned for greenlight for girls. g4g is a wonderful nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and inspire young girls across the globe to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Unfortunately, my time was cut short by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I left Belgium with what felt like so much left to do. Upon returning home, my experience at g4g drew me to look for an opportunity to engage with my community at home here in Greenville and continue advocating for education.
While I am a Din, first and foremost, I am also an avid Auburn golf fan where my younger brother is currently a team member. If there is anything I can brag about, it’s my two awesome siblings. In my free time, you can find me at the Saturday market in downtown or walking the Swamp Rabbit trail. I am a lover of all things art, and I never miss a chance to walk through a gallery or learn a new medium.
I am so excited to be a part of the Greenville Chamber this semester as a business advocacy intern. I cannot wait to see where this position leads me!
