May 18, 2021Meet the Team: Hannah Gertz
Hey everyone! My name is Hannah Gertz, and I am thrilled to be joining the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Advocacy team as the business advocacy intern this summer. A little bit about me- I am a native of Chicago, Illinois, and lived there for almost 17 years. Four years ago, however, my family and I made the bold choice to move down to Greenville, and we have not looked back since! I absolutely love the way Greenville is such an up-and-coming place and is brimming full of opportunities for young professionals such as myself.
I just finished up my Sophomore year at Clemson University (GO Tigers!), where I will graduate next May with a degree in Economics and minors in Political Science and Philosophy. Many of my classes in my major and minors focus heavily on public policy, which is very applicable to the work I will be doing this summer. At Clemson, I have also taken advantage of the phenomenal personal and professional opportunities presented to me. Outside of the classroom, I am involved in student government (which has piqued my interest in the political world) and have recently accepted a job with the Clemson Athletic Department tutoring student athletes. This summer, outside of working with Nikki, Jason, and the Chamber team, I will be tutoring athletes and doing academic compliance research for the Athletic Department.
Next Spring, my goal is to head Washington, D.C. for an internship focusing on either law or politics. Ultimately, my sights are set on law school, so the more exposure and experience I have, the better prepared I will be for the legal world! I am confident that my experiences this summer will set me up to be a successful intern in Washington, and a successful Clemson graduate! I am looking forward to all the exciting things to come over the summer, and I believe I will be a huge asset to the team!
