January 14, 2022Policy FAQ #1: How Do We Determine our Agenda?
January 19, 2022Meet the Team: Evie Robinson
Hello everyone! My name is Evie Robinson and I am thrilled to join the Greenville Chamber of Commerce as their Business Advocacy intern for the Spring of 2022. I am originally from Auburn, Alabama, where I lived for almost 10 years. I moved to Greenville to attend college and have not looked back since. Greenville has just about everything, and I cannot imagine spending the last three years of my life studying or living anywhere else.
I am a student at Furman University and am halfway through my junior year there. I am majoring in Politics and International Affairs, with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. I am also on the Pre-Law track and plan to pursue a career in the field of law once I graduate from Furman. I am an avid news reader and could listen to political podcasts for hours on end. If anyone needs suggestions on which to listen to, you can find me in my cube! Outside of academics, I am a member of an online publication on campus called HerCampus that publishes once a week. My pieces often focus on current political events and domestic affairs. I love Furman and am beyond thankful that through it I could connect with the lovely people at the Chamber to pursue this opportunity.
With my sights set on law school or a position within the world of public policy, this internship is going to give me hands-on experience on what goes into policy making and advocacy which I can take with me into my future career. I am so excited to be a part of this team and work with a group of people that love Greenville just as much as I do.
