McMaster Highlights UCC Policy Priorities
January 25, 2023Meet the team: Carly Alexander

Hey y’all! My name is Carly Alexander, and I am so excited to be the Business Advocacy Intern at the Greenville Chamber for the spring of 2023. I am from Simpsonville, and I am currently a sophomore at Anderson University where I am triple majoring in Political Science, History, and Public Policy. During my time at Anderson, I have also completed a legal internship in which I did legal research for pro bono cases. I am so excited to be here at the Chamber and dive into the world of policy!
Outside of academics, I love to read and will recommend a good book for you if you need any suggestions. I also love to spend time outdoors and go hiking. I am an avid Taylor Swift fan, so if you see me with my headphones in, you can probably guess what I am listening too! We can also debate about which album we think is the best. Personally, I am a Red (Taylor’s Version) fan, so I think that ends the debate right here, but I am open to your opinions.
I worked at a local, family ice cream shop, Dillard’s Ice Cream, for 5 years which showed me the major impact that businesses have on the environment that surrounds us. Growing up in Simpsonville, I have always loved going to downtown Greenville and experiencing the liveliness that is associated with it. As someone who is looking at law school or finding a position in policy, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work in the city and learn more about policy making and advocacy. I am looking forward to the exciting things that are to come!
