2019 Upstate House Committee Assignments

Last week, members of the South Carolina House received their 2019 committee assignments. While just another day for many upstate House members, there was shocking news when former chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Brian White, R-Anderson, was forced out of his position only a month before the beginning of the 2019 legislative session. While we hate to use the word “unprecedented,” veteran State House watchers couldn’t remember such a high-profile committee chairman losing his chairmanship in that way. Rep. White was re-assigned to the House Labor, Commerce, and Industry Committee.
